Looks like its Hummingbird season so here's another one from Costa Rica. I think this is also a Green-crowned Brilliant? C&C encouraged and greatly appreciated.

Sharpness and eye contact look good. What is the red spot in the BG, some kind of blossom?

Thanks, Axel, if I remember correctly, it's an Hibiscus. Sorta like a spotlight; I like the effect although I realize some may not.

Good Colors, eye contact and sharpness and BG.
I like the Hibiscus flower, but I might prefer a different location in the frame
I find the angle a bit steep for my taste and I think a horizontal crop might work better.
You got a few small dust bunnies ( a few in the ULC and one a third way up)

Hi Katie. Definitely a Magnificent. If I remember correctly the shooting angle wasn't particularly steep; it was eye level. But I agree that the pose makes the angle look somewhat steep. I like the way you placed the bird in front of the orange spot; it shows that you were paying attention to your BG as you composed the image. Agree with the comments regarding crop and dust.

Nice pose and great exposure, Katie. The flower in the BG is a personal choice for sure and as Doug mentioned you searched for this position that you liked, paying attention to the background. I find the angle steep as well.
