Fotosketcher and a little cleanup of the background. I love that little program. I tried it out several months ago when Denise mentioned that it was nice for texture. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of it.

This friendly giraffe was at Fossil Rim, a drive-through park in Dallas.

One thing you might want to try is to add "Crosshatching" in PS to the image. We actually have a picture that the artist did totally with line work and it is awesome. Like what you have, but another idea for the image.

Also like the subject as we love to shoot them at Lion Country on the weekends when we stay in the area. Interesting charactors! :D
