Caught this one on his way back to the nest with lunch. I wish I had gotten a little more eye contact.
Sony A700, 70-400G @400mm, f6.3, 1/1250, iso1250, ev+2.7, HH. PP in PSE8, levels, sharpen, crop. I blew out the sky on this one so I did a fill selection with color to bring back a little hint of blue. Does the sky color look okay?

nice job with the exposure on the bird!! looks fantastic! i might add just a little contrast to it. the sky could be darkened a little, but i think it's purely taste and could go either way. it does look natural as is.

Sky looks a little on the cyan side on my monitor.
Also believe this posted image not sRGB.

Hi Peter - like this a lot - all i would do is add some contrast to give it a little more POP.
I might even add a little additional sharpening - feel there are some more details to be coaxed out of it.
    Good show :)

Thank you Alfred, Harold, Tom and lance for your comments. For the re-post I boosted contrast in color curves. I did the entire image to bring the sky color down a little as well.

Original sky shade was ok for me. It is the cyan cast to it that I questioned.

Hi Peter - would have increased the contrast on the bird only and left the sky alone.
Try just setting a black and white point and work from there.
    :)
