Default Two for the Price of One

At the setups in Costa Rica, there were several coming into the flower at one time, so I reframed to put the flower in the center. I don't know if these are two different species or male and female Green-Crowned Brilliant. Can somebody answer that for me? Thanks.

Great seeing two birds with one flower !! Like the poses and natural bg.

For softer light on the birds you need more flashes, did well coverage wise with four !!!

Always nice when you can get two coming to the same flower
Your Id on the HB's looks correct

As per a prior reply to a post by Judy, the reds and whites are a bit hot due to placement of central flash

In a perfect world - the male would have positioned his wing separate from the flower and the female would have turned about 90 degrees to face the camera, but you can't train HB's

the details and colors on the HB's look very good given you only had 4 flashes

only other suggestion would be to clean up the multiple catchlights in the eyes

    very nicely done

Love your composition and light. Yes, male is on left and female on right. Great wing positions and details.
