Default Just another DAM bushveld afternoon...

Tried composing creatively with the available scenery a few weekends ago while on a farm in the bushveld of South Africa. This is a small dam where various antelope come to quench their thirst.

This is a blend of 3 exposures using Photomatix and Photoshop CS3.

As always, all feedback appreciated and assimilated...:D

    Techs:
    Canon 1000D with 18-55mm IS @ 18mm
    f11 @ ISO-100
    tripod-mounted

    Hey Morkel,
The blend looks very good as does the overall light. I think you also composed this nicely with the greenery in a VG position and the clouds positioned nicely between it and the grasses. Overall, the elements seem seperate though......not sure you could have done anything about that......except find a bolder FG element as the rest of the scene just doesn't have strong enough elements. Again.....everything else is right on and well thought out....so the scene itself just isn't working for me.

Hi Morkel, Compositionally I feel you did a great job. All elements are there but there isn't alot of interest within the image to hold attention. The sky is fine but as Roman stated it needs a stronger FG or I would add a stronger backround. Lighting is perfect!

thanks for your honest feedback Dave and Roman...I have a few more unprocessed images and will see if I got any scenes that were more interesting...:)

    Morkel,

I agree, the FG is not enough to carry this type of image.

I will add again, very well processed, just not a very compelling foreground. Now get some of those antelope in there....=)
