    Oz,

I was at the "Florida Birding & Foto Fest" two weeks ago and saw one of these guys flying near tree tops. It was one of the most amazing birds I have ever seen. Due to the tree cover, no way could I have taken a decent picture. Thanks for posting, love that tail!!!

Thanks Jeff for the comments. I hung around for two days waiting for them to come down enough to get a decent shot, and by the time he showed up the day had turned cloudy.

Hi Oz These birds are tough and you need perfect light conditions !!! Would love seeing more feather detail and a bit brighter !! Don't think you could have done any better !!! Might go over and give them a try !!!

Hi Oz - agree with AL - Awesome looking bird - would like to see more detail - gonna be tough in anything but soft light.
    Hope you nail one.

Hi Oscar, good comments above. You captured a good wing position but as stated you need that light to bring out the detail... Interesting subject!

Agree with more light :) Perhaps should have bumped up the ISO...you know...that's a D3 you have ;)

    Beautiful bird to shoot !

i gotta give my personal opinion here. i really like this. yeah, it's a little under, but boy it has a nice mood to it with the gradients of greys in the bg. i also like the swallow tail is shown. it's a keeper for me!

Sweet capture OZ! I think the drama of the shot overpowers the low light situation. Love the geometry of the wings and tail(s!) and would be happy to have in my collection! Well done!!
