I am so impressed by the quality of work that is posted here!! It is really tough to choose from all the great images, but here goes... I went with five places this week to recognize the quantity of excellent work!
First place - Harbor painting by Cheryl Slechta - Excellent interpretation of the theme and execution of the look of a master painting. The frame is complimentary and really adds to the effect. Congratulations Cheryl, well done!
Second place - Painted Flower by Christopher Miller - Another lovely flower image and the painterly look is very well done. The subtle drop shadows of the frame and matte make this look like a gallery presentation. Very nice Christopher!
Third place - landscape by Indranil Sircar - I love the colors and mood as well as the delicate use of Simplify to convey the sense of brush strokes. I felt that the absence of a frame was offset by the skill demonstrated in this image. Nice one Indranil!
Fourth place - Keeper of Murisk Abbey by Patti Edens - Nice DAP work and strong composition made this one stand out for me. The simple matte frame contains colors from the image, which is a nice touch. Still wondering where that blackbird came from! Good work Patti!
Fifth place - Purple Gallinule Painting - by William Maroldo - Bill, I really like the nice clean lines and bold color strokes. Very striking image!
Congrats to all winners and contestants!! Please don't be discouraged if you didn't win. The quality of work here just keeps getting better as we push each other to excel and any of these images could be winners. Thanks!! :)
