Pretty impressive image considering the equipment used. I'm cursious, what brand/model digicam? I like the composition... A classic "thirds" placement with the branches/leaves creating a leading line to the subject from the lower LH corner. There's definately some noise in the image but considering... Well done.
Panasonic announced the Lumix DMC-FZ35 digital camera that offers 18X zoom, which is the successor of the FZ28. The 12.1 Megapixel FZ35 gets a 18x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens with 27mm wide angle. It features the new POWER Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S.) system that doubles the repression power of the MEGA OIS.
Hi Gus, nice exposure with good even lighting. I would crop the image from the left to the small gray stick 2nd from the left. Even though it centers the bird a bit it make s the bird stronger in the frame and still shows environment...
Hi Gus, always nice to get a good surprise in the morning but I think this one came to you from a kingbird. Ash-throated Flycatcher (which you probably have had in your yard) should have more rufous in the wing, a long rufous tail, and a much less contrasty head. Now as to which kingbird, well from what I can see I can't be positive (not many kingbirds up here). It looks pretty good for a Cassin's but I'm, not sure I can rule out Tropical which isn't very widespread in AZ but does occur in Green Valley. If you happened to notice the tail, Cassin's is rounded with a white band on the tip, Tropical's is notched and plain.
Thanks for the "heads Up." Have neve seen a King, so some investigation is my next step. must be getting crowded in Alaska as the large Green Valley crowd is on their way back.
So you get another surprise, a life bird in your yard. Good deal.
With a bit of luck some of those southern flycatchers will get caught up in the return migration of the snowbirds. Must be nice around Green Valley. I know some who eventually curtailed the return north.
