    Hi Christopher,
Nice image! I also like the pose. The ruffled feathers add interest in my opinion and the look back provides us a good view of the head and eye. It might be worth running another round of sharpening on the bird. I tried it and thought it helped. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely composition and lighting with a great perch, head turn and pose. The detail is excellent and the eye contact is wonderful. Fine work and thanks for sharing Christopher !!

Hi Chris, a nice capture with extremely good detail. Not sure you need an extra round of USM as this might be a little OTT for such detail, but see. Might suggest some NR on the BG, but be careful as this might pop the bird out too much. There are three blue blobs above the head suggest you clone these out, not quite sure what they are, but removal would be good IMHO.;)

Agree with all the comments about the good pose, head angle, sharpness, ruffled feathers etc. To me the coverts and scapulars look a bit dark, and could use a bit of fill light. And were the legs really that red? They almost glow! But overall a very nice image.

thank you for all your comments,Richard I know they call this bird a red shank, but to me they are orange, they are quite bright on these birds, and if a bit of sun hits them, they become even brighter,Steve, the 3blue blobs above the head I think is the river running over stones, the river is a bit low at the moment in places, but thanks for spotting them,I will probly clone them out thanks.
