I did not see the other one. :) Head angle, sharpness, and perch are all good but the scrunched up, angled to the left, no right foot showing, over the shoulder pose leaves me lacking.

I like this species very much since it is not an 'usual' here in Mass.
The image is very nice, just a bit of HA and eye contact would make it even better.
'Over-the-shoulder' pose is tough, not bad but difficult :)
I think fill-flash would help with the shadow too.
