I am always surprised how diverse diet of snowy egrets can be. This one focused to beach flies. She walks there and back and ate only flies. Note the free one on right side :-) Captured on Sanibel beach, Florida

I like the image design, the low angle, and of course, the flies. You did well in very poor lighting conditions, high and from behind. You might have tried reducing the ambient exposure a bit and then pouring in lots of flash.

I'm at a loss as how to use fill flash at high speed with Canon equipment. I haven't been able to expose images faster than 1/200. And more recently have the flash at 14mm and can't figure out how to get it to 50 without reading the OM. This shot is fantastic of the juvenile Snowy Egret capturing Love Bugs, while the horizon would much be preferred level.

Yes agree about the flash, Better Beamer at 50 will do the job.
The action is very interesting, I like the angle too....

Great behavior, low angle, and background. Agree with above comments.
Also wish body was angled a bit more toward the viewer.

You did a very good job getting this one instead of such a harsh light. Low angle is fantastic but the action... just killer.
I think that if you made a slective adjustment of levels in the sky and foreground you can get a more contrasting result.
