What a sweet little bird. I like the pastel, quiet feel, the pose and the sharp details.

Love the soft marshy colours and BG Karl, frontal pose works for me but i'm always partial to a bit more side view when possible.

    Nice one.

Neat perch, BG and calling pose. It looks a bit washed out on my monitor. I would increase contrast and lower the midtones a bit.

    Thanks Axel.
This is how it looked before.
I went after the pastel look as I felt that it would fit the bird and the background well and would convey a mood.
I was expecting that some people won't like it at all; some others may like it this way as I do.

Agree with Axel's IQ comment, but I want to say that I like the composition very much.
    Must love sparrows :)

    Great composition Karl,

Axels version looks better on my monitor but I have never seen this bird so I don't know which is closer to reality.

    Thank you Austin.

    Reality is not the point.
My goal is to have artistic pictures and not pictures for a fieldguide.
All clours and forms and textures are a funciton of the light.
How would Axel know better, he wasn't there, I was.:)
