Imagine over 200 Ospreys nesting in Cypress trees and literally dozens flying all around you constantly...standing in a pontoon boat and less than 50 feet from the trees and nests. Incredible experience to be so close to these incredible raptors and to be able to photograph them....I really felt priveleged

    Gorgeous.
Technicals like good. Love how you framed with the nest/tree. You nailed the position/distance between the two, perfect. Great HA, wings, tail of the BIF. Only tiny thing is two small twigs across neck, I'd clone those out. Gorgeous.

Hi Ken, Tom hit all the points. Beautiful light and great wing position. I too like the way the tree frames the image. Very well handled!!

Hi - Glad to see you worked out posting them at full size.
This is sweet!! - Clouds add some interest to the BG - techs look good - just the cloning of the small twigs.
    This is v. nIce. ;)

Thanks guys....I bought Artie's book so I could read the chapter on exposures....why didn't I do this sooner . And thanks to Harold Davis who walked me through the sizing after emailing me the tutorial which I somehow couldn't find and couldn't figure out. Next month will be my first year anniversary with photography....special thanks to Judy Lynn Malloch for sharing so much of her knowledge with me and allowing me to shoot in the field with her and to Al Forns, Lance and Dave for your encouragement. I am really excited about your positive comments on this pic (maybe I should quit after this one ... :D ). Just kidding...how many more species of birds are out there?....

Hi Ken That morning was tough for making good images but you came up with a good one !!! I like how you framed it and showed the nest Solid tech settings and did well in PS !!!

The only improvement I can see is getting some texture detail in the whites and has mostly to do with the light (which we didn't) and PS work !! Excellent !!!
