    Default Swallow -tailed Kite overhead

    Have been waiting two days in the parking lot at Anhinga trail to capture one of these guys. Finally today, and although it was a cloudy day he (she) arrived around noon.

    Nikon D3
    Nikon 500mm F4
    ISO 400
    1/3200
    Aperture Priority
    Exposure Comp @ 1 1/3
    Hand held

    Glad you got one Oz ... and they usually show up at that time !!! The big deal of shooting there is catching them picking moss !!! Did any dive down toward the tree? Did well with the exposure comp, might have tried even a little more if the top of the head didn't get blow !! Tough obtaining deatil under the wings in dark areas !!

    He did not come down for the moss either time. That's what I really wanted to catch. :confused:

    Sorry, but the white sky, flat lighting on BIF causing no detail in whites or blacks in feathers, makes it overall just ok for me. Must be a very tough critter to photograph, I'm not going to try :)
