At 152 cm (5 feet tall) the sarus crane is the world's tallest flying bird. Some have been recorded to grow to 7 feet tall and have a 8-9 foot wingspan! Males and females look identical, though males are a little larger, and they mate for life. In this image, one of them is giving the other quite an earful, while the other seems silent. No rewards for guessing which is the male!
    Species: Sarus crane (Grus antigone)
Location: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Rajasthan, India
    Date: Nov 2008
Equip: Canon 1D Mlll, Canon 500 f4 with 1.4 TC
Specs: ISO 320, f8, 1/1250s, hand-held, lying on the ground, +1/3 exp comp

Nice COMP and EXP with the sarus' eyes sharp. BG is pleasantly soft; you might consider removing the small whitish round area in upper left. Thanks for posting these sarus cranes, not often seen on BPN, Ajit!

    Nice image and humor!
Like the composition and the expression on the 'quite bird'.... the muted color and slight oof enhance the story.
Awesome birds! I'll have to get to Bharatpur sometime.... sooner of later.... after internship maybe!

Looks like a family altercation. You captured it very well. Thanks for sharing.
