Default Iao Needle - Maui - DAP Aquarell

This is an image of the Iao Needle on Maui. It is located in the Iao Needle State Park, which was a favorite resting spot of the ancient Hawaiian royalty. It was also the scene of one of the bloodiest battles in Hawaiian history, when it is said that the local rivers ran red with blood from the fight and they were damned with the bodies of the dead. The needle was used as a lookout point, as it has a perfect view of the oncoming enemy and is 1,200 feet, above the valley. Due to the lack of scalable scenery around the needle, it is an optical illusion that the height is not that great.

Modifications included; DAP Aquarell and in CS4; Variations, Hue & Saturation and Brightness & Contrast adjustment.

    Enjoy!

Thanks Nicki for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

The history of Hawaii is very interesting and the relationship to the environmental elements adds to that interest.
