A less camera shy one than my last post with a little more perch and light. I liked the slightly raised head feathers on this one. 40D, 400DO + stacked 1.4x and 2x TCs, f13, 1/320s, ISO 800, +1/3 EC, monopod mount, some off the top, bottom, and left.

Very nice pose, perch and background. It seems to need a bit more sharpness, but you were working with stacked tcs so I guess that is all you could get.

Another beauty, Steve. The color of these birds is just gorgeous. Nice work with the stacked TCs.:)

Steve, shooting at almost 1800mm EFL at 1/320 is sweet, even on a monopod. Well done to get it as sharp as you did. The bird looks like he did the rest. :) Nice pose and beautiful colors.

Wonderful shot with great BG, light and colors. Great head angle.

I much prefer this comp to the previous one. I only wish we could see at least a bit of the wing to our left. The blue pops right off the BG, very nice.

    Superb Steve,

Great to see this especially given the use of converters.

Hi Steve, no loss of IQ with the stacked converters - well done. The blue on this guy looks slightly darker than your previous post, and I like it. I also like the angle here, together with, as you mentioned, more perch. Pleasing image.
