    Default Western Sandpiper

This is an image I made last summer. Looking forward to another chance with these guys. They really move! Wish I had had a little bit better light from the side--

like this one Bonnie, and esp the sand grains on the bill. Next chance, can you lay on the ground :)
I just discovered similar little water pipits last weekend

Hi Bonnie- Beautiful image. Don't think it's a Spotted Sandpiper, although it does have spots! It looks like a Dunlin with the largish, decurved bill. I'll ask my shorebird colleagues to confirm ID and I'll get back.

Real nice with the sand on the bill. I'm undecided on the surroundings. I'm leaning toward a lower angle to see less "stuff" around.

You are so right John, is not a Spotted, thank you. It is a Western Sandpiper I do believe.I think a Dunlin is larger and heavier.

This is a Western Sandpiper in worn summer plumage :)
Nice image thought the lights looks to be harsh on my screen.

And my shorebird colleagues confirmed the Western Sandpiper. They all said how nice the image was!
