I'm still at it with the Eagles and Ospreys. They put on quite a show most days.
Sony A700, 70-400G @400mm, f8, 1/640, iso1250, ev+2.3, HH. PP in PSE8, levels, sharpen, crop to vert.
I am trying to keep ISO down as low as possible while holding a decent SS. I have found IQ to be best at f8 with this lens @400mm. Birds were coasting on wind currents today so I was okay at 1/640

Hi Peter Like the wing position and open beak calling !! Good tech settings, might experiment with a little more compensation? Underside probably had to be lighten some? Could increase contrast a tad and can try the presets in curves, the lowest increase should make a difference !!! Excellent image !!

.. btw looks good to me but just to check .. .when doing these with an even (light) bg, best to select the sky then reverse and contract selection to avoid any halos when sharpening !!!

As always, thanks for your critique and helpful hints. Here is a repost with increased contrast in curves. Is it too much??

Hi Peter - repost does look better - there is a article in educational resources about sharpening techniques with lots of sky involved.
Doing well!! Brush up on those sharpening techniques.
