    Default Female robin

Caught this lady busy sorting out stuff for her nest from some old conifer roots. Rather overcast day but hope its sharp enough.

    Ben:

Nice stick! Very good noise level for this ISO/camera combination, which suggests your exposure was spot on.

The eye/beak could be a touch sharper.

If it were mine, I would tone down the brightness of some the brightest background, to try and focus attention on the bird.

    Cheers

I wouldn't have expected such a long twig from a songbird's nest!! Good points by Randy, and I would add that I would perhaps crop a bit off the top, and to me there is a magenta cast to your image (bird and nest). You could open up your aperture a bit for additional SS and a slightly less defined BG.

Thanks for the advice. Is this an improvement?

Yes, I do find this is an improvement. Way to go on the tweaks!
