Default How About Some Love For Mommy?

Mother's Day is around the corner. So I decided to share a picture of the mommy instead of pictures of the fawn.
Happy Early Mother's Day to all the mothers in the forum.
She was looking at the fawn that was few feet away.

Troy, lovely sharp detail, and the ewe is separated from the BG very well. Comp wise, I would have cropped where the neck joins the body, and had oodles of space on the left to look into. I would also blend in the whitish area ULC.

Agree with Stuart on the crop. Detail in the doe is very good (spider web even visible). TFS

    Like the crop.
That can't be a spider web from ear to top of shoulder?

It looks to me like she has walked through a spiderweb, you can see lots of it on her eye lashes. That would account for the web stretching across the back of her neck, perhaps?

Hilary, you are correct. Spider webs are everywhere in the state park. If you only took a shot of me after following them for 30 mins. :p

Hi Troy a lot has been said about the image which I do not need to recap, but I do feel that the crop needs to be far tighter and portrait. There is just too much wasted space behind the head which really is not aiding the image, comp, or indeed, the subject. It is always good to have space for the subject to look into, but perhaps a crop about half way down the neck and the full length to the left, also cropping half the height above the ears to. I feel then the image would have far more impact and really show off the great detail you have captured within the image. The spiders trail might be lose sadly.

Steve, I would like to see your version of crop, if you don't mind.

    Something like this Troy?

Not ideal, but it illustrates what I was thinking of hopefully.

Steve, I like it but I would go a bit wider. Thanks for your help. Appreciate it.
