    Default Oryx Jostle

These two bulls in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park were having a friendly bout of "how's your father" prior to the start of the rut last year.

Almost full frame. All critique welcome.

Nicely framed, I like the inclusion of the yellow fg plants. Nice action captured, kicked up dust adds to the interaction of these two. TFS

I like the habitat and floating dust. The line created by the straight out tail and black lower body line leads my eye right to the head and face of the more active of the two in this contest. Although I like the yellow flowery bushes, I also like the look of a tighter pano browser crop with them removed.

Nice dusty action. A proof that harsh light is sometimes OK, it gives a real feel of heat.
Personally I don't think the yellow flowers add much to the scene, and a tighter pano crop would be better.

BTW, I can't wait to visit that park.

Like it. Agree about a bit off of bottom.
Wondered also about a very different crop, those horns are so wonderful. Maybe? -

The composition would be better without the yellow flowers. More space at the top and less at the bottom would have strengthened the composition. A narrow aperture would have ensured a greater depth of field. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Morkel, I liked the dust and the harsh feel it helps create. The tail in mid-swish adds again. I like the yellow flowers, a nice contrast. Nice post

Your OP should stay as is. The dust adds to the action, and if anything, I would just tone the overall image ever so slightly.

thanks for the kind feedback everyone. I like the yellow flowers and left them in for colour contrast and depth.

Stu - what do you mean by "tone" the image?
