    Default Perched Osprey

I haven't really had time to go through all of my images from a recent Osprey trip but here's one that caught my eye. Would this be better with trees in the background or would it be acceptable like this with a clear background. I would have definitely preferred clouds but none to be had. What about the amount of space around the image...is there enough or should there be more?

The shot was taken at about 7:30 am so the lighting was kind of nice.

Love the wingspread. Looks like you had some good light. Maybe just a touch more sharpening on the head for me. As far as room goes, I'm sure you will get varying comments on space, It works for me as posted but ideally I would like a little more top and sides. Just don't ask Roman, he will want it tighter :D. Well done. TFs

I would like a little more space. Lovely image though! A joy to look at.

It works for me, with the wingspread, setting this pic off. Needs a bit more sharpening, a fine line for sure! Did you have any more room , if so a bit more one side, would be added benefit. Looks like you had an awesome trip!

    Matt:

Nicely exposed, body/wings sharp, head needs a bit more sharpening.

My personal preference would be for a bit more room on top and both sides.

I also would generally prefer some more background details, but the wing display is so good that it still works very well.

    Cheers

Thanks for the tips and comments. There is plenty of room around the Osprey in the original image so I'll see what more canvas looks like. The trip was great and I will return often to the area...really cool opportunities!

Just a bit tight near the primaries, but a high impact image! Great wingspread, awesome view of the talons, and I like the shaggy throat feathers.
