    Default Great Egret Portrait

I took this shot in a citrus grove west of Ft. Pierce FL

    7D 500 f.4 1.4 TC
    ISO 400
    f/11
    1/800 TV Mode

Cropped as portrait as there was a terrible shadow on the body of the bird.
Background had Noiseware Pro and also a slight surface blur.
Bird only had a slight bit of Luminance reduction in LR Beta3 plus sharpening.

I didn't change the background, even though it is a little distracting.

Love the sharpness, the HA and the open beak is a plus. As mentioned the background is a little distracting but it does give hints of environment. White on the back of the body seem blown, but probably recoverable with RAW.

Hi Gary Do list the exposure compensation since it is important to check metering !!!

Sharp and lots of detail, best if you had all blue in the bg, not sure if being higher was a possibility? Tech wise not sure why you would use Tv? Normally we use it when controlling the shutter speed for effects, in this case is best to control the aperture so ... Av !!

Hi Gary - agree with the above comments - nice detail from the 7D, Agree with your comments about the BG.
Might have opened up some more F11 was probably overkill here - would have also given some more blur to the BG
7.1 Probably would have been plenty.
    Keep em coming :)

Hi Garry, agree with your assessment of the bg, maybe a bit more blur would help it. I like the nice details in the whites and the s-curve of the composition. A tiny bit more crop from the bottom would eliminate the shadow completely and could even take a tad off the top for my taste. Well done!
