    I had a great time shooting this particular bird on a number of occasions at Ding Darling a few weeks back.

    This is one of the first images I captured immediately after coming across this bird...with nobody else around :)

    It would have been nice had their not been a ripple on the water, but it did a great job of keeping the no -see ums away!

    Nikon D300, 500 AFSII, TC14EII, ISO 400, f 7.1, center weighted metering

    Hey Jim!

    That face grabs your attention, a powerful look and nice detail. Like the drops falling too so he was running around a bit before this. My nit is a tiny halo creeping in on the beak, not a problem to get rid of, maybe back off a hair.

    I guess this one is right before you got the 500vr! Looking forward to seeing some of them.

    Hi Jim!

    This is really powerful, and interesting. Don't know if it is possible, but maybe an exaggerated pano might emphasize the power even more.
