    Default Collared Aracari

    Canon EOS 50D, Canon EF 400mm/5.6, ISO 1000, f5.6, 1/50s

This is my favourite belizean bird. I have seen him several times on my later trips but suddenly this year I found the place where one can make better picture. Shade of the forest push the ISO up to 1000 but the time still remains too slow. This is one of several sharp pics out of nearly 300 taken. Comments are welcome.

Framing looks good as does sharpness (with the exception of the bill tip, which appears to suffer from motion blur). Was this taken with manual exposure or a priority mode? What was your camera EC if you used a priority mode? Did you use fill flash? If so, what was your FEC?

Very interesting bird and nice BG, some nice comments by Doug, I can also see fair amount of chroma noise/artifacts in the feathers, if possible clean these with NR. Great portrait and excellent pose, a winner in my book for sure. TFS
