It's too bad these things don't generally feed on pretty things like flowers. Usually it's stuff like mud, rotting fruit or animal poop. This one is sucking minerals off some concrete.

Hi ken...super nice image...great pose, exposure looks good on butterfly. You might consider darkening the background

Hi Ken, Wonderful colors on the BF I might go with another round of sharpening and if you could I would have laid down on the ground and went with a real low angle.

I love the colors. I agree that the BG needs to be toned down a bit.

    Hey Ken,
The concrete looks pretty good!!!....better than I would have thought. I think the lighter BG makes the darker BF stand out. Very nicely done!

Well Ken, concrete is better than poop! Gorgeous color, nice side view, the whole bug is sharp. The best red-spotted purple I have seen.:)

I've never seen one of these in person so bravo! I also would like a touch more sharpening on the bf and I think a small amount of toning down on the left side of the BG would also enhance what you have here. Nice side pose, Ken...love to see the details in the face and wings at the same time. The spring is off to a great start!
