first of all, big giant welcome to BPN!!! tons of fun here and will learn lots!

love your first post. lovely light and nice composition. techwise i would have bumped the ISO a little to get more shutter speed. you got away with it, but i like the insurance whenever i can get it!! i would run a round of noise reduction on the green bg. nice job, neil!!

Hi Neil, I bid you welcome! and also like the image! Good lighting and sharp. If this were mine I would crop the top down to about 1" above the hole and crop out 1/3 to 1/2 the green backround on the left. IMO this will accentuate the bird more and make for a stronger image. Agree on running a bit of NR on the green backround. Another idea.
    Very nice first post....

Hi Neil - Big warm welcome to BPN - nice first post - Dont hesitate to jump right in and leave comments on other peoples images - all we ask is that you say what you like or dont like about a image - will help you learn and increase the speed at which your own images improve also. Feel free also to download other peoples images to work on them to make improvements and then repost in the same thread with details on what you have done - once again your skills will rapidly improve.

Like the composition (Nice ROT) Colours look good as does the exposure - as mentioned by harold a little noise reduction on the BG - looking forward to seeing more :)
