This was a very rushed shot photographed in overcast conditions. I was in a Private Game Reserve parked with my vehicle pointing down the road, an adult Giraffe to the right and a youngster to the left. All of a sudden the adult began walking towards the youngster and I had a feeling a connection between the two would happen so I quickly started and swung the vehicle sideways photographing the entire scene vertically. All images including this one were full frame. Im not so sure about the light area top right, I have a handful of images which I have experimented by cloning the light area in to match the background however this frame I left just as I had photographed it. Thank you for looking!

Nice interaction captured Roberto. Love the pose and nice and sharp. To bad you do not have any room to the left. I would tone down the bright areas in the bg. Well done. TFS

Cute. I would crop the top off to the bottom of the bright white area on the upper right.

Hi Roberto, good to see you here. I like the tender moment, both sharp, and I would blend in the BG to the URC. Pity about cutting a little from the youngster.

I would crop top a little and fill in the remaining right white with green clone.
I would like to see the eyes. I think giraffe eyes are very dark, so may be very difficult. I just looked at Dumay's giraffe portrait just below and he managed to get the eye color and catch light. Maybe you can copy and paste that eye over here ? ;)

Hi Roberto, a tender moment captured nicely done.

Agreed that the cropping on the lhs isn't ideal, but that's life and we all have taken shots like this where you have a harsh hot spot as per the top rh corner. Now you can easily clone in this area but how confident you are in PS I am not sure so perhaps a tighter crop like this might just work and avoid any hard work for you.

I would suggest you revisit your original file and use the highlight/shadow tool to see if you can get more detail out of the eyes, but this would require creating a mask. If you are unsure drop me a line. There is more detail there, but I can't bring any more out on this file sadly. Colour & detail looks good too.

Maybe you can copy and paste that eye over here ?
Tom, Dumay's posting is of a Zebra, not a Giraffe, however to suggest, even in jest/jokingly, to copy someone else's image is not on, therefore please do not suggest doing this as it infringes the copyright of the photographer. Thank you.

Ooops, sorry, I was so intent on eyes I did not even know I was looking at two different animals!!! And of course not ethical to steal even a part of an image, sorry again.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, much appreciated.

Steve thanks for the re post, a greater improvement without the top right hand corner. I will try and fill the lighter area in with the clone tool.

Giraffe eyes have always been a problem and on the rarest occasions I manage to get good detail out of them. Will try as you suggest... Thanks again!
