    Default Painted Willet with Frame

It has been a while since I've had a chance to play with photos. I hope to spend more time here. I'll never catch up with all the great images that have been posted.

I played around with a photo of a Willet that I took on the beach last Friday. I wish I had more time to do something original, but I just used a few programs to create this. I used Fotosketcher for the painting part, sketch 2 blended with original and added texture #1, and I used IDframer for the frame.

Patti, Nice to see you posting again. You've been missed. I love the idea here and you did a great a great job executing this high key look. I might give a tiny bit more room on the right. I also might work on the straightening of the image a bit. Nice looking effect and it is an awesome look.:)

Thanks Denise. It is nice to be missed. :)

You don't miss much in these images either. :D You are absolutely correct on both counts. I took a bit more care this time and got the horizon level and also moved the bird over a little bit. I just wish I could figure out how to move the picture in the frame in the program. I keep having to edit the photo and then run the framer to see what kind of havoc it will wreak. It never puts the photo where I think it will. The original was level, so I had to make it look as if the bird was going downhill in order for the frame to look right. Weird program. I need to play with it some more to figure it out.

    Thanks for the great pointers.

Very creative concept and execution Patti! The repost does help convince the eye that the image is married to the frame. One thing I noticed is that the texture of the canvas didn't follow the straightening of the image. Was the canvas applied as a layer above the image? Things get very tricky when working with perspective! Still a very nice work and I like it!

    Thanks to all!

Kerry, I didn't even notice that! The texture was added on a separate layer, but I merged the layers before I changed the horizon so that it would look level in the frame.

This is what it looked like before adding the frame...

Strange. Thanks for pointing that out. One more thing to watch out for.

Patti, I really like your post of the image before the frame! I love the open feel and room for the bird to walk. Lovely image and I think the frame cramps it a bit. I guess I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of frames for images on the Internet. :o Also notice that the canvas texture is scaled properly for the larger image.
