This is a breeding male from one of Sandy Hook's osprey nesting sites. The shot was taken shortly after sunrise, albeit the golden cast to the bird. 1D mark III, 800 f5.6, iso 800, f8, 1/1000 mounted on a full wimberley and gitzo legs.

I like the angle, light, eye contact and BG. Where on Sandy Hook did you make this? I wish for a bit higher shutter speed and would tone down the highlights more and try to get more details in the blacks, particularly at the tail.
