Default Tanzania first two weeks of Feb 2011

    Hi,

We are tentatively looking at Tanzania the first two weeks of Feb 2011.

Because we like to turn a two week trip into a very much longer trip, I am seeking ideas and places to go either in January, or after our two week adventure anywhere in Africa.

If there are enough suggestions to logically cover the period Feb - June/July, we would stay and travel for that period of time.

For example, is it the time of the year to head North, eg, Kenya and Egypt (diving the Red Sea), or is it the time of the year to head South to Mozambique, Madagascar, and South Africa.

Those of you that are divers - is it the time of the year to hop over to Mauritius for some diving?

    All suggestions appreciated! :D
    Cheers, Jay

    Default Africa in February

Hey there ... assume you're visiting Ndutu in February. If you don't mind going north a little bit, Amboseli (in Kenya at the foot of Kilimanjaro) can be pretty dramatic in February. Skies are usually spectacular, the vegetation is healthy and the elephant herds are enormous.

I also like Zambia ... both South Luangwa and McBride's Camp up at Kafue.

Hard to go wrong in Africa ... the most wonderful place on earth.
