Yeah, it's going to be springtime! The birds are collecting material for building their nests! I saw this great tit pulling down some soft moss for the new home.

Due to the heavy overcast weather I had to use ISO 2000 and my nit is, that the image looks noisy and not tacksharp because of the noise?

I like the composition but couldn't help but notice a slight color cast - does this look better to you?

I like the colors and the nice soft look.

I'm not distracted by noise on the subject, but the BG could be smoothed out a little. It is more noticeable on the repost because of being re-compressed.

I had to pull both version down and look at them side by side to see the difference in color, but it is there. Really slight, but there.

Agree Rosl - a moment well captured. Also agree with william re the lack of catch light in the eye. These birds with a very dark eye set in a black head suffer from the empty eye-socket syndrome!! A fill flash is always handy here or if your ethics allow cloning in a catch light that adds life to the eye.

Thank you for your gentle critique.
Now I did some work on a catchlight.
What do you think about it?

I think it looks great! How did you add it? Soft brush low opacity?

No, Jim. I did it like that befor, but it seemed to me always unnatural if I did it that way.
In this case I took another picture and grabbed the catchlight from it. Then put it into the image, changed size and opacity until it looked good for me.

Love it Rosl - puts life into the eye and adds greater impact to the image.
