This question crosses into both the Photography Gear forum and the Digital Workflow forum so I trust the moderators will assign it into the appropriate one if I haven't...
I use a Canon 400mm f4 DO as my long lens, sometimes with a 1.4x TC. When I got it, I knew that one of the issues with the lens was the possibility of having lower contrast. I shoot raw 100% of the time and up til now, have dealt with boosting the contrast on a shot by shot basis in post-processing but at the Photoshop level not the raw conversion level. I use BreezeBrowser Pro as my raw converter and am wondering if it made sense to adjust the contrast globally in BBP. What I'm looking for is to establish a more consistent "look" to my images.
I use my 400DO now on the 1DIV and 5DII in RAW mode and was well aware of the slightly lower contrast of the 400DO when I bought it. My main RAW converter is Lightroom and I use the "Clarity" slider to enhance the mid-tone micro-contrast. A setting of around 20-25 is usally fine to correct the contrast of the 400DO, the motive corrections come on top of this.
Thanks for your response! Now if I can only figure out how the "clairty" slider in Lightroom translates to the contrast adjustment in BBPro, I'll be all set :)!
Not sure if this will help but under Useful Links, there is a link to Breeze Systems. At the bottom they have a deep link to their support site; maybe you could ask them a question - hope this helps.
