This image was taken at Ding Darling in January under light overcast at mid-day. I like the apparent eye contact between bird and crab. 20D, 500 f/4 +1.4x, 1/1250, f/6.3, ISO 400, uncropped. Comment welcome.

Great job catching the action with excellent exposure, sharp detail, perfect head angle, and nice bg !

I'm seeing a blue/green color cast. Here's my attempt to warm it up a bit.
    See what you think.

Awesome. I like it for the action, head angle and details.

The image tests out as pretty darn close to neutral, but I can see how some people would prefer it a little warmer. I'm partial to the cooler version.

    Mike,
I see what you mean by the coolish color cast. The revision you posted shows a notable magenta cast on my monitor. Maybe somewhere in between the two? Thanks for commenting. Steve

    Hi Steve!

I think the HAP will like you for this one. The crab makes it better. I agree with the slight color cast ... but maybe just apply the revision just to the bird, and leave the background as is?

Very cool image! The position of the crab gives it a little something extra.
