Welcome to the macro forum Bob !
Liked the crisp and sharp centre of the flower. The eyes immediately lock on to that. That aside, the BG is nice too with occasional red blotches.

Welcome to macro although with my absence, I'm not sure I'm in position to do the welcoming! :)

The poppy looks really good to me. Color is handled well and the focus is sharp. I also like the poppy (?) reprise with all the oof flowers in the background. Just the right touch. You may have already done this but I wouldn't be afraid to zoom in even closer on the center of the flower and just fill the remaining frame with the petals and no background. I have a feeling that would also make for an interesting composition.

Welcome Bob! Very nice first post. I agree with everyone else's comments but would add that I wouldn't mind seeing more stem here. The flower feels a bit top heavy in the frame to me. I'd either crop in close as Ed suggested or give it a little more room in the frame for some stem to balance out that big bud.

Again, welcome to the group! :)

Lovely colors, nice details and like the oof flowers in BG. If possible you might try one with the poppy filling the frame.

HI Bob, Nice rich colors and I think the flower contrast nicely with the BG.

    Hi Bob,
Welcome to the forum! I'm with Jules on a bit more room bottom but otherwise nicely done with all the rest!

    Welcome, Bob!
I'm in the "more stem please" camp. Other than that, I agree with the other compliments already made. :)

Lovely. Love the colors and the waving petals. Nice angle to the flower. I might lighten the red to the left of the flower a bit so it doesn't compete. Look forward to more of your posts.
