first of all let me apologize for not participating much lately. things are warming up around here and i have been pretty busy at work and doing other personal things that get in the way too. weeding through 1900 images from last weekend aint easy!

this was a first for me. witnessing and shooting it. i went in not knowing what to expect or do. so i winged it the best i could. please let me know if there was something i could have done differently in camera or PP.

    D300, Sigma 120-400 at 150mm, f/5.6, 1/60s, -1.0EV, ISO 4000...the lens was/is my wife's anniversary present. thanks, honey!!:D

thanks for looking. comments and critiques much appreciated.

    ;) Could have borrowed my D3S :)
(Think I owed you that one Harold --- LOL)

Looks great for 4000ISO on the D300 - Maybe some careful selective sharpening of the planes and some NR on the background?

Hi Harold, I like the way you handled the image technically and compositionally. Those starbursts add a nice touch. As Lance suggested a bit of NR on the backround would finish it off....

thanks, guys! i thinks i was a little sloppy with my PP. i had so many i might not have given it the TLC it needs. i'll revisit and give it another shot.

    thanks again!

here's a repost with some extra NR and basically just a local contrast adjustment to the edges of the planes.
