This is the first nest of Wood Stork babies to hatch this year at Gatorland, and are now old enough to be readily visible throughout the day. Best time to get these little fellas is in the early morning light! While I wish I had a little better head turn on the adult, it took forever for the 3 little ones to get their heads up together... so I'll take it!
Just as an FYI, we have about 15-20 Wood Stork nests so far, at least 3-4 nests have chicks.
Good job on getting the 3 chicks with their heads up - pity the adult didn't co-operate too but 3 out of 4 isn't bad. Darkening down the sky a little may be an option.
Mike, I like the poses of the chicks and agree that it would have been great if the adult turned toward you. BUT it is very nice to see the chicks and it must have been hard to get all three looking at you. I might run some NR on BG. Thank you for sharing these cuties.:)
You surely got the chicks arranged nicely. And yes to NR on that sky. The adult should have its head arrested!

I remember this family. Cute chicks. Thanks for the hospitality early this month. My wife loved the golf cart ride back to the car. Thanks again, very cool place!
