    Default Another World

This image was taken at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, of an overlook toward the ocean. It is truly another world, as you explore the HVNP. My recent visits to Kennedy Space Center, the past week, gave me the added inspiration for this image, as we move on to other worlds and beyond.

Modifications in CS4 included; Accent Edges, Diffused Glow, Dry Brush, Violet Film Filter, Shadow & Highlight as well as Brightness & Contrast and Hue & Saturation adjustments.

    Enjoy!

Mark, Nice to see you experimenting with different filters and looks. I'm not fond of the composition. I keep looking for a focal point and feel the tree isn't strong enough. My opinion only-others may feel differently. The layered look of the BG is nice.

Thanks for viewing and comments Denise.

Guess we agree to disagree again! :( ;) :D

The subject, in this vision, is the BG beyond the trees. The image shown, in my intent, is of another world ... unlike ours, as viewed from the cliff. A world where space is eternal and distant, as viewed from a recognizable FG. A world that our great grandchildren may find, on a voyage of the future, to yet unknown lands.

Attached is the original image ... for your reference. Not much different, as the land of HVNP is truly another world, which until seen is indescribable to others.

My only regret is that I did not convey that to you. As the true vision is both in the mind of the creator and the eyes of the viewer. However, I offer it there for those who can see it.

    Enjoy!

Mark, I was a bit lost as well. I found that if I scrolled the top section of the image off the screen the tree grew in prominence (because the white area was now gone) and I liked the OP much better then. Again - I certainly see your vision but I think compositionally it's hard to find that little tree when the BG has so much white drawing your eye away.

Thanks for viewing and comments, Jules. Appreciate it.

Know some will and some won't and it may not work at all. That is why I appreciate the comments.

    Thanks again. :)

Hi Mark, I'm tending to agree that the comp is a little confused. While the intent was to pull the eye into the distance, I find my eye being brought back to the trees which are too small to warrant the attention. Just another free opinion, which is worth every penny!! :D
