Canon EOS 50D, Tamron 180/3.5, ISO 320, F7.1, 1/125s
Early morning picture of European mantis. It was very long day I spent beside this fascinating creatures. I will upload here several pictures. Hope you enjoy it. All comments are welcome.
Sula, welcome to the Macro forum! What a tremendous portrait! Pretty perch, pretty pose and beautiful lighting - what else could you ask for? I love the way the front legs are outstretched over the top of the flower - that is super! I also love the shadows of the legs on the rear of the body. Everything is sharp and crisp - BG is perfection - this is really a wonderful insect image. Can't wait to see what else you have to show us!
Love the flower, the pose, the mantis, and the great light. This one is superb. Welcome and lets see some more!

Oh just awesome ! Lovely light, smooth BG and what a pose !
How I wish, the lower tip (amdomen) of the grasshopper was as sharper.
Will look fwd to seeing more of ur images.
Thanks for sharing this one.
Beautiful image Sulasula! Pin sharp detail with a nice clean bg and great colours.:) I see that you are using the Tamron 180mm. Do you find it a great lens? I've seen a review that reckons the Tamron 180mm is sharper that the Canon 180mm?
