Thanks to my friend Karl Egressy for the info on this birds location, i saw it out in a farm field, on a old fence post... when I was ready yo head out there for a few frames, it decided to fly directly at me!!
You can imagine how I felt... but, to short of a lens, and poor angle, so I watched it fly over a busy highway, and land on a chimney in the back of someones workshop... with nobody home, I carefully work my way into the back yard, and in position for the lift off... this bird has no fear it would seem, and I stood there, in deep snow, no boots, and waited... took a few frames for the record, and finally an hour later it lifted, and flew to my left.
Shaking and shivering, I was lucky to have enough light and a decent ss to catch a few frames. this is the second shot, as the first one her talons were still touching the chimney, and I clipped the wing tips as they were straight up.
take care, and thanks for looking.
