    Default Barn Owl Flight (C)

Lucky to be able to photograph this little guy ... definitely a highlight of the Year for me.

    1/2000, f8 at ISO 400 with the Mk4 and 400 5.6 on a bushhawk :)

Thanks for looking ... and thanks to the mightly Maozenhouser :)

    Bill:

Looks very nice, but hard to see the details at this size. Consider a repost at the full 1024 width to give us a better look at this beauty.

They are particularly impressive head on because of their flat faces. Exposure and sharpness look good.

    Cheers

Pano crop suits this well. Like the head on view. Well done. TFS

Bill, great capture, owl coming straight at you is the hardest to nail it. You did just that.

I found that many people always ask me, how did you get them to come out during the day?
I believe that is a misconception that people think they only come out at night. All the owls I saw have been around after sunrise or before sunset. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for the comments everyone :)

Troy, as noted in the title, this bird (C) is a captive specimen and was out flying for it's daily exercise. I was lucky to be in the area at that time.

Michael, I got him around 10:30 in the morning, just before the real harsh light.

I did not see that. C or W, they are hard to shoot. LOL
