Yesterday at Sandy Hook. As I crawled on my belly to stalk a pair of American Oystercatchers, this one pretended not to notice me, but every so often turned to check and make sure I wasn't getting too close. Eventually I got some closer shots with better detail, but I liked the look of this one. C&C appreciated.
Very nice image, I like the composition, the details in the blacks are great and the background is beautiful.
The only thing I can suggest is maybe trying to get rid of the clump of weeds on the left edge and maybe sharpening the eye a little.
Hi Bill - love the low shooting angle - lots to like here!! Good Ha and nice detail throughout.
I would consider cropping the weeds out altogether and as another option cleaning up the stuff on the sand - will completely change the image but would make a nice clean quite striking image - IMHO.
Like it.
:)
Lovely image Bill !!! Agree with comments and ..... btw is that a roach on the beach Would crop the left to just before the roach, love that blue bg !!!
Thank you all for the kind and helpful comments. I've adopted some of the advice from each of you: cropped to approx. 11:14 ratio; cloned out what remained of the left-hand weeds, the "roach" (I don't know what that was), and the blob at the feet; left some of the shells since I thought they added some texture to an otherwise empty beach. Agree with Lance that another option would be to get rid of the shells and the RH weeds, but thought I'd try it this way. Hope you like it.
Your repost is a big improvement, Bill. I'm with Al that your BG is lovely. I don't mind the shells and weed on the right in the repost (the stuff was distracting in the original, though).
