    Default Belizean Great Egret

    Nikon D200, Nikkor AF-S 300/4, F4, 1/500s, ISO 400

This picture was taken at Aguacaliente Reserve in southern Belize. It was few minutes after heavy rain, deep clouds everywhere and shining Great Egret silently waits for fish. Thanks for your comments.

I love the extreme low angle, and the look of concentration on the egret is very nice (although I do wish the head was angled a bit more our way). The very bright stripe in the BG attracts a bit too much attention IMO. Lastly, I would experiment with a pano crop without the weak-ish reflection, plus add a bit more room above. The egret looks great, as does the dark water with light ripples...good mood to the image.

I like the pose as presented, bird is obviously concentrated on the prey, not sure he'd be looking at us :)
Not crazy about the white band in the BG. The crop suggested by Daniel would work also. TFS.

I really like the nice contrasting colours especially the dark greens.

Ha's are tough to get sometimes.

I like this composition, although it seems a bit tight on top and bottom. A pano as suggested would look very nice as well.

Nice, for the reasons others have already mentioned. I especially like the very faint green reflected in the water.

I wanted to experiment with the pano crop idea. Added some canvas top and left, and obviously took out the white in the background. Also
added just a hint of "light" above the bird to relieve the pitch black.

Thanks. I think this could turn into a really nice image working with the full-size file.
