Default Sigma EX 70-200/2,8 II APO HSM DG Macro + 2.0x TC

I got the Sigma EX 70-200/2,8 II APO HSM DG Macro and I am considering buying a Sigma EX 2,0x APO DG tele-converter to it. My question is if anyone have experience using this combination, does the TC affect the image-quality alot or is it worth a try? I've tried google but didnt find alot. I would love to see some photos shot with this combination. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about this combination BUT

I have the Sigma 50-150 f/2.8 and the Sigma 100-300 f/4. I have used them both with the Sigma 2X and have been very unhappy with the results (very soft). On the other hand, they work great with the Sigma 1.4X.

I have the 70 200 2.8 and the 1.4 and the 2.0. Focussing slows with the 1.4 and is a dog with the 2.0, IQ is decent with the 1.4 and pretty lame with the 2.0. If I get chance tomorrow I'll try post a crop.
IQ isnt anywhere near as bad with the 300 2.8 which takes both well, even stacked although IQ suffers a bit and focus is slow.
Assuming you are wanting it for birding, if its BIF then the focussing might hurt too much, if its stationary birds then its worth some thought perhaps with the 1.4 if you have a crop camera. what body is it going on?

thats the 70-200 @ 200mm on a 5d2, iso 200 , jpeg , no pp, mild sharpening in camera in very bright conditions. will try and compare to the 300 2.8 prime with teles as well if i get time. I normally shoot raw and pp in lightroom so i may not have got the best out of the camera jpegs. the 70-200 is razor sharp on its own even at 2.8. I didnt stop down any so that may help with sharpness (but I doubt with any CA issues) to some degree.
would be interesting to see some from the 150-500 or 50-500.
