Captured this little guy on a recent trip to Pilanesburg Nature Reserve, I have tried to capture the intent look on their faces when they hunt. all comments and crits welcome as always;)

Fantastic close up Lee, superb light and exposure, Love those perches at Pilanesburg...Photographers dream....Cant believe we both posted one after the other a pic from Pilanesburg. And I was trying to decide between my PK and the Sparrow...Luckily I chose the latter:D
Hi Lee, Nice details on the PK and I like what you're trying to do but I find the perch overwhelming the image and competing with the PK for my attention.

Hello Lee,
+1but I find the perch overwhelming the image and competing with the PK for my attention.
Maybe I would have tried to remove the branch behind the head and within the beak...
But the details are awesome and nicely sharp! We can easily see all the concentration on the eye!!!
Well done and thanks for sharing!
Michel
Lots of fine detail certainly has the intent look.
I think a crop from bottom may put more attention on the bird and less on the perch.
Cool pose and look on its face. With the calibration strip looking perfect the blacks look a bit dark. The perch for me is very distracting.... A tighter crop might be in order here.

Thank you for your comments folks, I quickly edited one this morning to see if it works, but i would generally never remove so much from a photo! please let me know if this works;)
I like the thought but I am still not convinced about the branch. I must agree with Arthur.
I like the re-post better but the branch is still butt-ugly. It was great that you got so close to the subject. Was this from a blind?

Hello Lee,
This one is much better than the first.
Being there, why don't remove the whole branch?
Cheers,
Michel
Like this Lee. Perch was distracting but repost is much better, but still a tad distracting. Super detail!
