    Default Great Blue Heron

It is difficult to tell if the head angle is slightly away from the plane of the photo or not. I would obviously like it to be angled just a little more towards the camera to be perfect for me, but maybe it is still a keeper. Let me know what you think about the head angle and any other thoughts about the photo. Thanks for looking.

Superb exposure, detail and colour. The water is skew might need a clockwise rotation...But otherwise a faultless image!

Hi Rodney, While the HA might not be ideal it still looks parallel to me now if you're a die hard member of the HA police then this would not be a keeper:) I do like the colors on the Heron and would keep it if you do not have any better images of them. I did notice you shot this wide open at 5.6 with a TC, I would recommend you stop down to around f/7.1 to f/8 to increase sharpness when using a TC.

Good detail and colours Rodney, and I agree this needs a CW rotation. If anything, I would just selectively sharpen the side of his body.

The body is angled slightly toward you, so from what i can tell ha is fine.
    Nice details and colour.
Just needs that bit of rotation.

Good job on the head angle as it is borderline no good :) Perch is on the ugly side. :) EXP and sharpness good. Wing position: not my fave. Feet: mostly hidden.

Thanks for the comments. I can easily correct the rotation, but the perch I will just have to live with. For now it is probably the best Great Blue Heron image I have. Hopefully I will get some more with better perches and head angles this spring and summer.
