Interesting how they use their tails to slow down before the feet touch down on the water. This was taken at the same birding spot where I posted my Sacred Ibis post. Taken in the late afternoon in Cape Town last December.
Randy, Im not sure what is on the bill. Its bugged me for a while. The line at the back certainly seems like it, as you can see it going underneath the chin. Having said that, this water spot is only accessable by a few paths to the hide I was shooting from. There is certainly no fishing done whatsoever, unless he's flown away and come back with some line. These birds are all totally wild and can freely fly where ever they may choose. Cheers.
