    Default Ivory Gull Portrait

This is a portrait of the Ivory Gull that I photographed on Cape Cod in January.

With envy in my heart I do believe that you posted some better ones way back then. The slightly dirty chin leaves this one a notch below. Still super sharp with a perfect EXP and of course a killer bird.

Thanks, Artie! I agree that those before sunrise look better, the chin is actually wet as he was looking for food in shallow water. I cherish every moment I spent with this bird, it was a very special day.

Excellent exposure, pin sharp, and just love that eye. I remember you being over the moon at capturing this fellow.

And I can imagine why you were over the moon. Beautiful bird and your exposure is something to teach. Like everything about it. Would be nice of there was more separation between the bill and the water drop, so it couldn't be seen as dirt. Very well done, Axel.

Stunning portrait Axel. Love the whites and the beautiful BG.
