    It had been raining and after he came to the nest to relieve her from the egg sitting duties, she flew down to a nearby puddle and for whatever reason soaked her head several times.

    After flying back up the perch she frequents to the right of the nest, the clouds dried up as I watched them and I created this image just before the sun dipped below the hill on the other side of the river to our west.

    Nikon D300s, 600 VR, TC14EII, ISO 800, F10 (tried to get the pine needles in the focus plane as much as possible), 1/160, CW metering, NearUniWB preset, +1 EV

    This is a fine looking bird I like this kind of pictures. Sharpness and color and compo are great. But I wonder what happens if you crop 3 cm from the right just near pine needles.

    Sharpness and eye contact look very good. The composition works for me, too. Interesting story and hairdo. :)
